Despite estimates of $70-per-acre payments for corn farmers in as
many as 16 states for this year's corn crop, the Congressional Budget Office
released a new projection Monday showing only 37.5% of corn acreage will enroll
in the new Agricultural Risk Coverage-County program. Farmers will instead
choose to enroll more acres in Price Loss Coverage.
